½ûÂþÌìÌà Myavana Reese

I am a Graphic Designer based in Massachusetts, graduating in 2025 with a BFA. In high school I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do. I wondered about what I could be good. After landing on Biology, I began to dedicate my life to getting that degree. After completing one semester I slowly grew unhappy. I realized that I wasn’t going to college for the right thing. At least it wasn’t right for me. I ended up finding Graphic Design and switched my major. After years of getting to know the basics of graphic design as well as adopting my own style, I’ve learned about what I want to do for the rest of my life. I enjoy packaging, brand design, social media work/marketing and creating in general. In my own time I also print and sell stickers that I create on my iPad. I also love to experiment with physical media. Such as paper making, poster making and screen printing. Knowing this about myself, I am excited to find out what I’m going to do in the future.

Statement

At first it wasn’t easy to figure out what I wanted to do with my capstone. Then I thought. Why don’t I create something that I want to see in the world. I searched my brain and ended up coming up with Emblèm Kafè. 

Emblèm Kafè, is a subscription box that is run through my hypothetical café. The subscription box consists of products such as tampers, cups, coffee, etc. I created it, because as a person who was getting into coffee and making coffee at home, I was easily overwhelmed by the choices and where to get products for my espresso machine. My company is there to help with that. To get rid of the stress and to get people to make coffee from home. Especially people who are unable to get to the shop.
