½ûÂþÌìÌà Mason Ricci

Hello! My name is Mason Ricci, I am a senior in the Animation and Game Arts program at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, graduating as a member of the Commonwealth Honors College. I am a digital artist interested in character design and animation. I hope to build a career developing and animating unique characters for video games, comics, and television using the skills I have learned over the past four years.

Statement

For my capstone project, I decided that I wanted to focus on developing unique characters under a cohesive theme and explore concepts like shape language and color theory. The result is “Preying Mecha!” a series of character designs with the concept of combining two interests of mine, insects and mechs! It isn't the most complicated idea, but it allowed me to show off what character design skills I have gained and even clue me in on where I would like to improve. I spent two semesters on this project and ended up with three final designs and many scrapped concepts that I am proud to show off.
