Proceeds from the October 22 community run to support student veterans

On Sunday, October 22, at 9 a.m., the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Student Activities, Involvement, and Leadership Office (SAIL) will host the second annual Race for Veterans 5K on campus. The run will occur on the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Coach Robert Dowd Cross Country Course. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. on the day of the race. The race will start at 9 a.m. for all runners.

Proceeds from this event will be used to support programming for the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Student Veterans' Services Program Fund. The fund supports services provided to veteran and military-affiliated students, such as military-to-civilian transition assistance, mentorship initiatives, tutoring, and the operation of a campus Veteran Center. Funds are also used to support programs to build community among veteran and military-affiliated students, such as through speaking engagements and networking events.
All runners will receive a timing chip to record accurate start/finish times, and medals will be awarded to the top three runners in each age category (Under 14, 15-19, 20-34, 35-49, 50-64, 65+). Snacks will be provided after the run for all participants to recharge. Runners will get a runner's packet, including a custom bib, an event t-shirt, and a special gift.
All runners and other participants should park in Lots 5, 6, or 8 and check in at the track across from Lot 8.
