Reception with Bristol Community College and BayCoast Bank highlighted five students’ successful graduation from BCC and transfer to the CCB

On Thursday, January 12, at 10 a.m., the Charlton College of Business hosted a reception to celebrate five inaugural members of the BayCoast Scholar Program, who graduated from Bristol Community College (BCC) in the fall of 2022 and will enroll in the Charlton College of Business (CCB) this spring. ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, BCC, and BayCoast Community Bank leaders congratulated the group's hard work and perseverance since enrolling at BCC in the fall of 2021, and acknowledged that this is only the beginning of their sprouting careers.

The began in the fall of 2021 as an innovative scholarship and apprenticeship program developed in collaboration with BayCoast Bank. The project intends to assist students from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds to earn their associate’s degree in business at Bristol and bachelor's degree in business management at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, while working at BayCoast Bank and gaining valuable professional experience.

"We are proud to be part of this initiative by BayCoast Community Bank to enrich the lives of area students and expand the diversity of their employees by providing funding for their four-year business degree."

John Williams, Dean of the Charlton College of Business, began the reception with a welcome to the CCB and ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, followed by remarks and congratulations from BayCoast Vice President for Human Resources, Scott Lopes and Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Helena Moronta, Bristol Community College President Laura L. Douglas, Dean of Business and Experiential Education, Vinnie Rege, and ½ûÂþÌìÌà Chancellor Mark Fuller and Vice Chancellor for Advancement Dean Hickey. BayCoast C.E.O. and CCB Board member Nicholas Christ, and other BayCoast, BCC, and CCB leaders were in attendance.
