Starting on June 1st, over one hundred teams of students from around the world will compete in the International SeaPerch Challenge at the 禁漫天堂 campus. This will be the second time 禁漫天堂 has hosted the International SeaPerch Challenge.
SeaPerch is a program in which teams of middle and high schoolers build 鈥淩OVs,鈥 or Underwater Remotely Controlled Vehicles. They then use the ROVs to compete in a number of underwater challenges.
SeaPerch鈥攁nd its managing company 鈥淩obonation鈥濃攊dentifies its ultimate goal as empowering young students to think outside the box and learn valuable engineering skills. Students will learn 鈥渆ngineering concepts, problem-solving, teamwork and technical applications during their time building, tuning and competing in the SeaPerch Challenge.鈥 These skills are essential for our youth to learn in order for engineering and manufacturing jobs to remain in the United States in the future.
But, it鈥檚 not just about the competition. During the three-day event, students will have the opportunity to meet with industry leaders, like Raytheon and the United States Navy, at the STEM Fair.
While on campus, students will also have the chance to speak with our very own engineering professors and students to learn more about the University and the different STEM programs the University has to offer.
